Yet another short edition. Between pledge season pre-empting Doctor Who on a number of PBS stations and a new job shaking up my routine, the column has been a bit on the back burner. Hopefully things will return a bit to normal next week, and subscribers of the twidwtalk list should start seeing it get livelier too.
Since this is a column about Doctor Who on TV, let us have a moment of silence for Donald Wilson. In 1963, Mr. Wilson was the head of the BBC Script Department. He greenlighted the pitch from producer Sydney Newman which became Doctor Who. Donald Wilson was heavily involved in British TV from the 1950s to the 1980s. He died March 11, at age 91. RADIO/INTERNET:

BBCI http://www.bbc.co.uk/cult/doctorwho/death/index.shtml
Death Comes To Time
Episode 3B The Child, part 2 of 3 now online
Episode 3C goes online March 22. All previous installments still online.
Requires some version of Realplayer to listen to. My advice - do NOT upgrade to Real One if you can help it - the older RealPlayer is better, and I haven't found a way to switch back to the old one yet.
WSBR AM740 West Palm Beach, FL http://www.wsbrmoneytalkradio.com/
Fri 11PM EST Interstellar Transmissions http://www.scifiradioguy.com/
Realaudio http://www.neuronbroadcasting.com/radiostreams/wsbr-am.htm
Sci-fi news talk show with periodic Doctor Who references. This week's guest - Lloyd Kaufman. The redesigned website is now saying that Windows Media Player is required to listen to the show, so you might want to visit around and check before broadcast time if you're planning to listen. I will recheck the links before next week. Maybe they've discovered the horrors of "Real One", too.

TV:

UK:
UK Gold http://www.sceneone.co.uk/s1/tv/listings
Sat 7:10-9AM GMT The Curse of Peladon movie
Sun 6:15-9AM GMT The Sea Devils movie

Well, it seems official. UK Gold wasn't airing restored versions of Doctor Who stories after all. The final piece of evidence was when UK Gold aired
their "unique" version of The Dæmons again. In the restored version, episodes 1,2,3,+5 are restored to colour by combining a color US off-air recording with a black & white master print, while episode 4 is the original 625 line PAL colour VT. UK Gold airs the first 4 episodes in black & white, then presents the recoloured episode 5. This unusual version previously aired in the UK in 1998 and 2000/2001, with at least one report that it was used in 1997. In the mid 1990s, UK Gold aired the correct colour version.
